At our house, we celebrate Winter Solstice and open our gifts on the 21st of December. At night we have a typical celebratory meal (e.g. dead bird and vegetables) while we burn the Solstice candle. When the candle melts all the way down and goes out, the days start getting longer. Pretty tricky, ay?
