Easter morning about fifteen years ago, my husband’s parents were getting
ready to go to church. Earlier that week, my mother-in-law had bought a very
beautiful dress to wear for Easter. She had hung it up on the back of the
bedroom door and that is where it stayed for the whole week. Easter morning after
making the bed up, she took her Easter dress down off the hook and laid it
across the bed, to be ready to put on. She went ahead and made breakfast for
everyone and then took a shower and washed her hair. Returning to the bedroom
after styling her hair, she was going to put the dress on. One problem–the
dress was gone! She looked on the back of the door to see if her husband hung it
back up, but it wasn’t there either. My mother-in-law did not find her dress
that morning. It was about one and a half years later when she found that
dress. Her and her husband were going to put in a waterbed, so they were moving
the mattresses. There, between mattress and boxsprings, lay that Easter dress
flat as can be as if someone had put it on and was laying there. Not a
wrinkle in it, perfect. Perfectly chilling if you ask me!
